Successes of the finance and operations team

Successes of the finance and operations team

The overall good functioning of the reality around us is influenced by its individual elements. For a company to work well, many factors are also important. One of them is the good interaction of all the teams, about which there has already been something. https://lnkd.in/egvP4mRV

Today I want to draw your attention to our extremely resilient financial and operational duo, which is led by two energetic girls from the North. Two strong personalities for whom intricate financial, accounting and HR matters have no secrets. All our co-workers know that they are our charming Witches, and as you know or not a Witch is one who has knowledge. And the girls have versatile knowledge and do not hesitate to use it, helping all those for whom the world of finance, is a black magic.

Did it get mysterious?

Well, that’s how it is with us, that in addition to all sorts of IT wizards, we also have a secret power in the form of girls who stand guard and make sure that everything runs smoothly and on time at INDEVOPS. They are especially sensitive to this, 😊 because they know very well that in financial and accounting matters with punctuality is no joke.

It is worth noting that the finance and operations team, although not a development or product team, operates, like the whole company, using the Scrum method. Just like others, they have daily, sprints, play scrum poker and are successful in their field, as evidenced by their excellent results. are evidenced by their excellent results. They keep the company’s accounts in check, count cashflow on a daily basis, keep an eye on timely receipts from sales tasks, take advantage of available opportunities to optimize the company’s costs, keep learning new regulations, which we know are changing at a record pace. It’s impossible to list how many tasks fall on them. In their world there are hard rules of the game and they do not forgive even our CEO 😉 For this, all our, colleagues know that they can count on them and never hear the words: “it can’t be done”, because where the devil can’t there FO works miracles. 😊

Self-reliance and impact on cooperation

Self-reliance and impact on cooperation

In Friday’s mood, I invite you to another portion of my experience of working with INDEVOPS. You may remember how I described the beginning of this adventure and my first month of work 😊 https://lnkd.in/eHXVnCzh

Today I want to write a few words about self-reliance. Something seemingly obvious and seemingly simple to implement? “Be independent!” It is obvious that an adult in his work should show highly developed self-reliance. Then everyone in the organization (as well as in life) has confidence in him and knows that with an independent person, cooperation goes smoothly. The ideal situation?

Independence in my collaboration with Indevops is a key trait, as it makes things easier for everyone, causing work on projects to proceed in a timely manner and without involving other team members. It was not easy to switch to the track of being independent. After all my experiences in corporations, where often everyone knows better what, you should do and how, I suddenly had to and wanted to make decisions on my own.

Decisions of all kinds starting with, for example, what time to start my work. 😊 Yes, yes, you’ll admit yourself that this is an unusual situation 😊 Then, of course, the most important one, which is to plan the workday, choose the tasks to be carried out, maintain focus on their execution and arrange in my head a plan of action in the task.

I often work remotely, this form of work requires exceptional self-reliance and good self-organization. I have done away with distractions such as the phone and music, and organize my desk so that there are only items necessary for work. This significantly improves focus. Treatments very simple, but we often don’t realize how helpful they are. For example, clutter on the desk disorganizes our work and brings unnecessary chaos to it. In my marketing work, self-education is an indispensable element. It is also an element of self-organization. I have to be very active in this sphere and I set myself learning tasks, in the form of webinars or general research on how to improve something, for myself and also for other members of our team – hence our participation some time ago in a Gartner business breakfast https://lnkd.in/eJxPwFih

Inherent in my self-development are also books. I am currently reading, “The Mom Test”.

All the time I have many doubts and questions, because every day I am surprised by new situations, but it is getting better and better, and I stick to the principle that he who asks, does not wander. Asking questions does not represent my dependence at all, but only shows that I approach my responsibilities responsibly and have the courage to admit that I humanly do not know something.

How do you like such a model of cooperation? What does it look like for you?

Write me about it. 😊

Results of May’s Athletics-Sport Challenge

Results of May’s Athletics-Sport Challenge

May Athletics-Sport Challenge behind us. 😊

We had two categories:

– “Agile May Day”, where we scored 20 hours of activity as a team

– “King of May”, where the best individual score counted

What can we say, we did a good job. 😊

There were no funded prizes, but 75% of our small squad participated in the challenge, because the best trophy for us is our smiles and shared engagement.

Movement, is health, and health, is a guarantee of strength 💪 💪 We all need it. So does positive motivation. Today at the meeting, our colleague said that it was thanks to the joint initiative that he engaged in physical activity during the May holiday. This is the best recommendation to make such challenges as many as possible. And we can’t forget about the beautiful weather, which gave us ideal conditions for exercise.

It has been known for a long time that a harmonious team, is the foundation of the functioning of a good company. Perfect understanding and playing to one goal is the basis of success, and we are the best at success. 😉

More challenges lie ahead, as soon as they appear we will brag about them. 😊 😉

We congratulate all participants on the results and thank you for your engagement. 😊

May Athletics-Sport Challenge

May Athletics-Sport Challenge

May vacation is in full swing. Most of you are probably relaxing, but not us at INDEVOPS.

We here are bravely working for success, but this time sporty because thanks to Lukasz Maciaszek we have a real May Athletics-Sport Challenge here.

Everyone chooses the activity they like and logs the time in the Strava app.

We have two categories:

Agile May Day, here we do 20 hours of activity for 3 days, but note there is no soft play… activity we do together and count the hours.

King of the May Day, here the individual score already counts. May the best one win!!!

I will add that we are all very motivated and stubborn. No one will let go. What matters is the goal, which means movement and health. Here even the most reluctant stand at the start. The idea is important therefore we take it very seriously. The prize is the coveted meta and a shake of the President’s hand…everyone dreams of them

Have a great rest and we are starting our challenge.

Keep your fingers crossed for us

Efficient organization, or how we at Indevops organize our work, what tools we use to communicate proficiently, and what makes us successful!

Efficient organization, or how we at Indevops organize our work, what tools we use to communicate proficiently, and what makes us successful!

We know that the efficient and effective operation of teams in an organization is the foundation of a dynamic and efficient company, and therefore one that is successful.

If we among ourselves communicate properly, the effects of our actions are better and goals are achieved faster. We can get reliable feedback from the client, whose project is carried out on time and according to his expectations.

At Indevops, we use just three tools to communicate. This makes it very easy to resolve topics quickly, eliminates distractions, so that the exchange of ideas between us is smooth, and this is true no matter what location we are working from or what time zone.
In the first place, we do not send e-mails among ourselves but work exclusively on tasks, for which we use Easy Redmine. They can be viewed by all interested parties. Anyone can add a note to a task, suggest a solution or suggest an idea for a topic at a time that suits them. As you associate sites like Jira or Discourse, our Easy Redmine is just such a solution. We also use additional specialized tools in other areas of the company, such as our DEV team uses GitLab.

Although we take great care of the quality of the verbal content so that it can be understood by the entire group.

For remote as well as hybrid meetings, we use Teams. We don’t chat on them because those are distracting, we use them for the collaborative, face-to-face interaction that people need. For example, this is how we do our daily, coffee breaks or the virtual office where we meet every two days.
There’s also email, but it’s only used for external communication, which is visible in Easy Redmine anyway, giving continuity to internal and external communication.

What does this give us?

It allows continuous knowledge sharing, a sense of co-creation and co-responsibility, unfettered exchange of ideas, but also better quality and clear and transparent rules.
With us, everyone is a co-creator, and the whole thing is a natural knowledge base for others, both future and current collaborators. Thus, we eliminate the search for knowledge in many resources, which greatly speeds up finding the right issue of interest.
And also why is that? For me, the coolest thing is the reduction of distractions, which have always been chat and email. I remember my experience in previous companies how e-mails created the so-called snowball effect. Familiar? It’s how each person on the mailing list adds another person just to get the task off their chest. How much time I wasted reading emails that didn’t apply to me, instead of getting on with the job. And the best part was when someone came to me, or wrote in chat whether I had already read their e-mail.
Let us know how, it looks like for you.
