Eliminating blind spots in VCF Operations
Happy Easter! 🐇 Our VCF Operations extensions are now available on the VCF Marketplace.
All extensions are designed to deliver centralized observability of your IT environment directly within VCF — especially for components outside native VCF integrations.
We’re starting with:
No SAN visibility in VCF?
SAN Insight automatically discovers and maps relationships between SAN switches, ESXi hosts, and storage arrays (if connected to VCF Operations).
Currently supported are Brocade SAN switches including IBM, HPE, Lenovo and other OEM distributions.
Out of the box, it provides:
- 27 metrics and 76 properties
- 13 alerts
- 3 dashboards
- 4 custom groups
If you already have SAN monitoring tools in place, SAN Insight brings SAN visibility directly into VCF.
If you have dedicated SAN teams, it enables better collaboration with VCF/VVF teams by providing a shared view of the same issues from different perspectives.
The solution is already used in production by multiple customers, in environments with 4–24 FC switches, including large director-class switches (up to 256 ports).
No SAN visibility in VCF?
Introducing Script Control Center.
It allows you to run:
- Bash
- Python
- PowerShell
…and visualize the results in VCF Operations.
👉 In practice:
You can monitor anything that can be accessed via scripts, including complex logic and advanced monitoring scenarios.
Out of the box, it supports:
- Nagios scripts
- Prometheus scripts
It consists of two components:
- agent (runs on the OS where your scripts are stored — Linux/Windows)
- management pack, where you configure the agent and scripts
Metrics are generated dynamically, so you can build:
- custom alerts
- dashboards
You can also define relationships between collected data and VCF objects.
Pricing
- Both extensions are available as part of the Network & Security package
→ 60,000 PLN per year, including support - Trial licenses are available
- A free tier (limited endpoints) is coming soon
- Special pricing is available for partners managing multiple environments or interested in reselling
