Women in IT

Women in IT

Women in IT by Arrow meeting behind me.
Interesting lectures, new solutions and friendly atmosphere. 😊
It made me think that maybe the whole IT world is not rosy 🌸 for us women, and the statistics do not always speak in our favor, but there is a lot of space for us, and as we know nothing difficult for a wannabe 😊 You have to act!!!

I was recently invited by colleagues to the DEV department, but I like my marketing too much to rebrand myself as a coding specialist 😊
However, my professional path led me ultimately to IT. 😊 And I feel like a speeding bullet here, well good in the water for now 😊.
There’s a bit of work ahead of us cupcakes to break through in this heavily male-dominated industry, but also a light in the tunnel that there are more and more of us. We act boldly, we have a lot of knowledge, strength and clout. We choose the technological areas we are interested in, where we want to work, develop and train.

We act in the IT field, doing what we want and how we want without regard to the stereotypes in society. We are fulfilling our dreams and that’s the way it should be 😊.
Apparently, these wings (pictured) give power and thanks to them we get a real rush to fly! That’s what I’ll stick to.

I will add that in INDEVOPS is also growing every year, us girls.
With us there has always been a balance in this regard, not only because the world forces diversity. Our “FO” girls are now in their fourth year, because they know that at our company it is important to have teamwork and openness to all regardless of gender. As a reminder of how they work 😊 link to article:

And on top of that, the CEO is also a “Virgo”πŸ™‚ (zodiac, but always 😊 πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‰ ).

VMware Summer Partner Day

VMware Summer Partner Day

At INDEVOPS, we always have time to build relationships. Whether it’s through the projects we do or through meetings where we can exchange business and technical news πŸ‘

The most important thing on the wendor-partner line is positive flow and good vibrations.
We don’t lack such, so we took advantage of the invitation to Wednesday’s VMware Summer Partner Day at Warsaw’s Spokojna Restaurant.
We’re going to share our knowledge and experience there, and have a good time at the same time. πŸ˜‰Summer time is a great opportunity for that.😊 🌸 πŸ€.

On the speaking agenda:

🌞 VMware priorities, VMware sales and technology strategy – Arkadiusz Sikora

🌞 Prospects for growth and success for VMware Partners – Agata Dokurno

🌞 The ideal cooperation model – how to build sales and service success – Piotr KraΕ›

A short text about joy

A short text about joy

I was looking for a topic for a post that would obviously tell about the lives of myself, my fellow Indevops. It’s not easy to have a topic that wouldn’t be covered in length and breadth. Everything was already “thought”.

And then my colleagues started an office game of the popular ping-pong. Because, as you already know, sports are important in the life of Indevops.

https://www.indevops.com/en/may-athletics-sport-challenge/

There was a lot of laughter at this, their desk served as a ping-pong table, but the rest: palettes, balls, commitment full professional. Yes, I got the theme. Joy!

The business world associated with hard rules, rules, product, sales all important issues regarding regulations or contracts. Is there room for spontaneous joy in it?

Everything, in my opinion, is a matter of attitude and what we carry inside ourselves. And as the situation of my busy colleagues has shown, we can find time and space for small pleasures at any time. Even with a heavy workload, we can find a moment for a short party to get the endorphins, or happiness hormones, flowing. 😊

Because, as the theory goes, physical exertion increases them. And did you know that laughter does too? And even just thinking about laughing already causes endorphins to rise. That’s why it’s so important, because after all, it’s not work alone that a person lives.

That’s why we at Indevops often laugh. There is nothing more important than creating a place where you want to stay and want to work. And a place is first and foremost about people, and that’s why we make sure that we have a good mood no matter where we work. Even if there are more difficult moments, we talk them through and let off steam. Along with frank conversation, sports is very helpful in this case.

So don’t hesitate to let joy into the place where you spend 8 hours a day. Find your ways to bring it into your work and life.
And don’t forget to write me about it 😊

About the Agile approach, a few words

About the Agile approach, a few words

Much has been written about the Agile approach. Also, for me it was previously more of such a buzzword. However, since I touch it on a daily basis, I also want to add from myself on the topic.

When someone would ask me what Agile is, I would briefly answer “continuous change.” One of the first things I remembered when I joined INDEVOPS was: ” the only constant thing in life is change”. Once I realized this, nothing was the same anymore. 🀣 Requirements, purpose and expectations are constantly changing. With an agile approach to project execution, we can make modifications to projects to respond to them on an ongoing basis. “Well, there’s something to it,” I thought, “you have to get fond of changes” and get used to the fact that they will be an integral part of my life (actually, they always have been, but this taming somehow didn’t get to me πŸ˜‰ ).

What does it look like?

When I work in a team on a task there is a lot of interaction all the time. And I’m not just talking about team meetings, but in particular, about notes in Easy Redmine, which makes this interaction quiet and focused (you may remember the screenshots from my post about effective teamwork). There, each of us can type what’s in our souls regarding the implementation of a given topic. Or even that today he feels bad and doesn’t have the head to work 🀣 (cool, we’re human and even my boss writes that 🀣). Interaction makes it possible to make changes, to verify that the changes we or others are making are going in the right direction, that the way, the effect and the approximation to the completion of the work is right.

Agile, of course, has other aspects that are important to me: self-realization, self-organization and self-discipline. Although I don’t know if it’s the Agile aspects or the very nature of working at Indevops. It is still surprising to me that I can do something on my own. That doesn’t mean I’m left to my own devices, what’s not, because there is interaction after all πŸ™‚ I like the fact that I have a say in deciding the path I take in my task. And in addition, I can always ask my colleagues and peers for help and never hear the word no.

This is also what I equate Agile with, with collaboration. It gives me a great sense of support and belonging to our small community. It’s nice that each of us can express our opinions without fear of being judged, receiving constructive feedback. And, importantly, without pointing fingers, just so I could find the right way myself, however.

I have never had such a sense of empowerment in any place so far. Even if I have to abandon the path I’ve been walking, I can change the route and find the right path, into which I set off with courage. What matters in all of this is a pleasant path, which is friendlier when I know that change is nothing scary, because it can be mastered. And with the right support, all my roads in effect lead to a sprint 😊.
